ColourPop Nail Polish in I Wand It That Way

No comments :
I am way behind on things I need to review, so if you get bombarded over the next couple days with posts from me, I apologize in advance! This is the ColourPop nail polish in I Wand It That Way.

This shade is more of a glitter topcoat, as it shows up better over other colors and is extremely sheer otherwise. It's got a sparkly pink/orange duochrome iridescence to it.

The brush is average, nothing special to note about it. The formula of the polish is very nice. It's thin, but dries quickly and is easy to work with. You cannot feel any rough glitter in it once it dries - it's completely smooth.

As you can see, it's very plain by itself. I got 3 days of wear out of it before I noticed any chipping (and that was without a topcoat or anything, just on its own!) So to me, that's pretty impressive formula-wise.

Have you tried any of the ColourPop polishes yet? I knew I wanted to pick up at least one to try when they launched, and I am happy with it but might grab one of the more colorful ones next time!

Kat Von D Formula X Studded X: Mini Lip & Nail Duo in Poe

No comments :
I was pretty disappointed when I ordered this and saw the size of the nail polish, to be honest. It is TINY. It's .13 oz. and the lipstick is .04 oz, the size of the ones that come in the mini holiday set. The lipstick being small is fine - I will not go through a blue lipstick that fast. But the nail polish size is kind of a bummer, that's my only gripe.

Kat Von D Formula X Polish in Piaf

No comments :
I'll start this by saying I have no idea why this isn't the same brownish shade as the Piaf lipstick. That's odd to me lol. Instead, this is a purple with lots of shimmer in it. Not a unique shade by any means, but I am in love with the Formula X polish formula, so when I heard Kat was doing a collaboration with them, I HAD to try at least one! Piaf was the one that caught my eye, so I snagged it the day they added them to the Sephora site.

I picked up three of the ILNP fall colors, a while ago actually, and keep forgetting to review them! This has definitely become one of my favorite indie brands, and I had to try a few of the new ones that stuck out to me most.

Sugarpill Edward Scissorhands Collection!

No comments :
I debated whether or not to actually review this since it sold out so fast on the Sugarpill site, but I figured why not post some swatches anyway? I purchased the full collection, which includes the Edward Scissorhands palette and 2 nail polishes.

ILNP Ultra Chrome Flakies in Supernova and Luna

No comments :
It's been a while since I reviewed any nail polishes on here, and it's been even longer since a nail polish has actually wowed me. Enter ILNP's (or I Love Nail Polish) Ultra Chrome Flakies. These are the newest polishes in their store, but the brand itself was new to me! I pre-ordered these when I first saw them and got a few bucks off because I guess they put them up for pre-order at a lower price than their regular price ($12.50 each). I rarely pay that much for polish, but I couldn't not try a couple of these - they looked absolutely gorgeous. I'm happy to say they aren't a disappointment! Have a look.

DC Comics Girls Batgirl Products

No comments :
If there's one thing I've learned, it's that cute packaging always draws me in. ALWAYS. Walmart has these DC Comics Girls beauty products right now, and I couldn't resist grabbing a few Batgirl themed things.

Limited Edition Makeup By One Direction Tins!

2 comments :

The Makeup by One Direction line has released some more limited edition makeup tins, and this time there's one for each of the guys! Oddly enough, the products inside the tins are all the same. I was sent 3 of them and they are all indeed the same inside - the only difference is, of course, the collectible tin.

No comments :
The VIB gift for this year is a Formula X nail polish! It's full size, and I'm pretty excited about this because I just recently tried Formula X for the first time and now I know what all the fuss is about. I love their formula! The shade is a bright red and it's called X Loves Rouge.

Sally Hansen Color Foil Polishes in Sterling Silver and Cobalt Chrome

No comments :
Let me just say how excited I was when I spotted these in a display at Walmart. Years ago, I think it was around 2002 or so, Sally Hansen made Crystal Chrome polishes. They weren't around very long, and they became very sought-after in the nail polish world. They were awesome polishes to use with nail art stampers, as they showed up on just about any color because of their chrome finish. They also were the few "normal" polishes that actually worked with the stamping plates. Most of the time you end up having to buy the special stamping polishes because normal polish just doesn't want to transfer from the plate to the stamp and onto your nail. So when I saw these, I thought, "OMG are they the same thing?!"

Nails, Inc. Leather Effect Polish in Old Compton Street

No comments :
I recently picked this up for $7 on clearance from the Sephora website. I think Nails, Inc. polishes are one of the best brands out there - they last so long without chipping! The Leather Effects intrigued me, and when I saw that this was on clearance I had to grab it.

Valentine's Day Nails!

No comments :
I don't get to put as much effort into my nail art as I used to before I was a Mom, but I definitely like to do holiday designs when I can. They're also not nearly as long as they used to be, but that doesn't mean they can't be cute! I did a quick Valentine's Day design and figured I would show you guys - I would like to incorporate more nail - related things into the blog whenever I get the chance!

Light pink is Wet n Wild Megalast polish in Candy-licious
Dark pink is Nails, Inc: Lower Regent Street
The white and silver are just 2-way nail art brush/pens that I found at Rite Aid around Halloween time :)

Maybelline Color Show Brocades Polishes for Holiday 2013

No comments :
These are the Maybelline holiday polishes for the year, called the Brocades. These are a part of the Gilded in Gold collection, but come in their own display - which is kind of a bummer for me, since I found this display but can't find the one with the blushes that I so desperately want! Last year they had the Sequins polishes (which apparently I never reviewed on here because I went searching and couldn't find a post about it - what kind of crap is that?!) but if you remember, they were very sparkly, glittery, and festive. This year is more of the same, a lot of these have duochrome to them so they're more complex. I found these so intriguing and beautiful that, like last years, I needed all of them!

Julie G Frosted Gum Drops Polishes for 2013!

No comments :
You guys must KNOW how excited I am for these babies! Last year when the first set of Julie G Frosted Gumdrops polishes came out, I RAVED about them. To this day they are my favorite textured polishes, and believe me, I've tried just about every one out there! So this year there are 6 new colors just in time for the holidays. This year's lineup is more holiday-ish I guess you could say? There's a silver, gold, and green included and to me that just screams holidays. Last year's colors were gorgeous but more fun.

Sinful Colors Crystal Crushes

No comments :
I don't think that these are necessarily a "holiday" collection because I heard about them a while ago, but I was just now able to find them. The Crystal Crushes are a line of textured polishes from Sinful Colors. I picked up 2 pretty unique ones to share with you guys!
