It's been a while since I reviewed any nail polishes on here, and it's been even longer since a nail polish has actually wowed me. Enter ILNP's (or I Love Nail Polish) Ultra Chrome Flakies. These are the newest polishes in their store, but the brand itself was new to me! I pre-ordered these when I first saw them and got a few bucks off because I guess they put them up for pre-order at a lower price than their regular price ($12.50 each). I rarely pay that much for polish, but I couldn't not try a couple of these - they looked absolutely gorgeous. I'm happy to say they aren't a disappointment! Have a look.
Their packaging is really cute. Black boxes with little heart cutouts on the front to show you what color they are.
Now bear with me because these polishes are hard to describe color-wise. They shift so many different shades that it's hard to photograph them, but I think you get the idea from the pictures that I took below. If you are a fan of flakies you have probably tried a bunch by now, but I've got to say these are my favorites. The formula is phenomenal - the flakies are tiny and apply evenly. It's not too thick or goopy, and if you wanted to you could get it to be opaque with 3 or 4 coats. I always tend to use the flakies as topcoats over other polishes, but with these you could definitely use them alone if you wanted to.
Supernova is a teal to purple shifting flakie.
As you can see, you get hints of green and gold in there as well. So much awesome in one bottle! Here it is with 2 coats of it on its own:
I can't get over how evenly it applies! It is a dream to work with compared to other "glitter in clear base" polishes that I've tried before. Now here it is over a dark purple:
The fun thing about these is that you can get different colors out of it depending what color you paint it over. Over this purple, you get more of the green/blue coming out. If I put it over a blue, you get more of the purple coming out. So many possibilities!
Now for Luna. This one is a pink & orange to purple & blue shifter.
2 coats by itself:
And over that same dark purple polish:
Seriously guys, I cannot recommend these polishes enough. Not only are they ridiculously pretty, but the formula is amazing. I can get 4 days of wear out of them before chipping, and to me these are so worth it because you can paint them over so many different colors to get different effects. I am majorly interested in their other polishes now, as they have a ton of different finishes on their site. If you would like to check them out, head on over to http://ilnp.com!
