Traveling in Style - My Picks!

No comments :
I am not a traveler by any means. I haven't been many places in my life, and where I have been hasn't been incredibly far from my hometown in Massachusetts.. I am going on my first "real" vacation in April and could not be more excited. I never got to go to Disney World when I was little, but my husband grew up right near it so he went all the time. We are taking our son (even though I wish he was a little older so he'd actually remember it) as well as going down there to visit my husband's family. (If you guys would like any blogs about the trip afterward, let me know! I'm sure I will have plenty of photos to share!)

My Kat Von D Makeup Collection!

No comments :
You guys know how much I love Kat Von D's makeup line. I have been asked so many times over the years to do a video on all the Kat Von D products I own. My collection has grown and I kept putting it off, but I finally sat down and filmed this video! I hope you guys enjoy it - it's a long one lol!

Melt Cosmetics Love Sick Shadow Stack

2 comments :
My first venture into Melt Cosmetics was trying one of their eyeshadow stacks. I chose the Love Sick one because I really liked the colors. I had heard mixed reviews of their lipsticks, so I was somewhat worried about ordering this at first. At $48 it's a pretty hefty price for a shadow palette from an indie company, but if you think of it as they come out to $12 each, it's not that bad in the grand scheme of things. Also, the shadows are giant at 3.57g each, so you are getting your money's worth!

ACEVOG Haul/Review & Try-On

No comments :
I was recently contacted by a clothing company called ACEVOG to review a few items from them. I recorded a haul video/try-on and wanted to share it on here as well! They sell their clothing on Amazon, and the link to their store is here. They have a ton of cute stuff, but I do recommend going up a size from what you normally wear, as they are Asian sizes and fit small.

Hope you guys enjoy the video! You can subscribe to my YouTube channel for more, or follow my blog for more reviews!

*Disclaimer: The items mentioned were sent to me for review purposes. All opinions are my own.

MAC Viva Glam Miley Cyrus Lipstick & Lipglass

No comments :
There was a lot of backlash when it was announced that Miley Cyrus was going to be the next Viva Glam person for MAC. Whether you're a fan or not (I'm pretty indifferent), you've got to admit these colors are gorgeous!

Maybelline Master Conceal is a new super pigmented high coverage concealer that rivals the popular Glamoflauge from Hard Candy and Lock-It Tattoo Concealer from Kat Von D. This stuff is awesome!

MAC Mineralize Skinfinish in Lightscapade - Lightness of Being Collection

No comments :
Lightscapade is a mineralize skinfinish that I have been wanting for a while, and it is a permanent color now. When I saw it was released with the Lightness of being collection with the neat quilted pattern on it, I finally gave in and bought it.

MAC Mineralize Eyeshadow in Natural Vigor - Lightness of Being Collection

No comments :
The Lightness of Being Collection came out right after Christmas so I am a bit behind on posting this, but this wasn't a very anticipated collection, so most of the stuff is still available! This is one of the mineralize eyeshadows in the shade Natural Vigor, which is a metallic peachy champagne color. It is actually split into 2 shades - a shimmery one and a glittery one, but I prefer to just blend the 2 together.

New Blogger Tag! Music and Such.

4 comments :
I was tagged by my friend Lucy over at Love Lulu to do this - these are fun questions so feel free to do this tag also if you would like!

1) What is your favourite song?
This is always hard because I'm such a music lover. Music has always been a huge part of my life! My Mom raised me on classics like Metallica and Guns N' Roses (those were her faves) and as I got older I of course got hooked on some of my own favorites. We went to a lot of shows together actually, and that was a huge bonding thing for us. I will go with what I usually say though, a song I can never get sick of, and that is "She" by Green Day. They are my favorite band in the entire world and have been since I was in the 5th grade and discovered their music. I'll never miss a show when they come!

2) List artists you have seen live.
I used to go to concerts CONSTANTLY. Now that I have a little guy, not so much. I used to keep track of who I saw live and how many times, but I haven't been to a show in a while! I believe the last one I went to was Green Day, actually! The bands I can remember that I have seen are:
Green Day 6 times, Blink-182 3 times, Good Charlotte 10 times New Found Glory 7 times, Social Distortion 2 times, Mest, +44, Fall Out Boy 2 times, No Doubt, Matchbook Romance 2 times, Yellowcard, Sugarcult 2 times, Bowling for Soup, The Bouncing Souls, Anti-Flag, The Living End, Something Corporate, Hot Rod Circuit, Less Than Jake, Mudvayne, The Deftones, Linkin Park 2 times, Limp Bizkit, Metallica 3 times, Godsmack 2 times, Papa Roach, Lola Ray, Sum 41, Hazen St., My Chemical Romance 2 times, Hoobastank, Velvet Revolver (Twice! I met Slash and Duff!), Simple Plan, Angels and Airwaves, Relient K, Against Me!, Jimmy Eat World, The Dead 60's, CKY, ASG, Head Automatica, Avenged Sevenfold, Coheed and Cambria, Roses are Red, Amber Pacific, Chiodos, The Early November (twice), Taking Back Sunday, The Subways, Rob Zombie, Shinedown, Young Love (twice), The Pink Spiders (twice), Blackpool Lights, Supersuckers, Hit the Lights, Cartel, Kill Hannah (twice), It Dies Today, Paul Wall, Cobra Starship, The Academy Is, Army of Freshmen, AFI, Alice in Chains, and Backstreet Boys (my first ever concert haha).

As you can see, that's pretty much all I did growing up lol! I am usually always up front at shows - have never been anywhere other than the barricade for Green Day because I just have to get as close as possible. I will be cliche here and say that their music has always been there for me and has gotten me through a lot in my life. I will forever be grateful to them for making such great music that I can listen to no matter what I'm feeling, and it will help put me in a better mood.

I also have a huge soft spot for Good Charlotte and wish they would start making music together again. They are the reason I met a lot of the friends that I still have to this day, even my best friend, because we bonded through our love for that band. That's even how I originally met Lucy, who tagged me to do this! :D Just for fun, here are a few of my favorite pics from shows.

This is Joel from Good Charlotte, my number one crush since I was like 16 hahaha
The one and only Billie Joe:
Mike Dirnt:
Billie again, from the last time I saw them:
Tre Cool gave me his drumstick:
That pretty much made my life. It was in 2010 and it was my first time seeing Green Day after my Mom passed away. I like to think she played a part in getting me that stick :)

3) Name a place you would like to visit.
I would like to visit a lot of places. I just wish it wasn't so expensive to fly! I am finally getting to go to Disney World this April though, which I am excited for! I also have always wanted to visit Brazil, but I don't know if I can handle a flight that long!

4) What is your favourite family holiday?
Honestly, we've never been on a proper one! This Disney trip will be the first!
5) Who was/is your favorite teacher?
I loved my kindergarten teacher, Mrs. Purdy. I saw her years later when I was working retail and she STILL remembered me - that was the awesome thing about her, she remembered the names and faces of all of her students.

6) List a famous person you would like to bring back to life and have a chat with.
Hmm. That's tough. You know what, I'm going to say Corey Haim, because I loved him and was really upset when he passed.

7) List professions you would like to try.
I took a stab at tattooing and wish I had stuck with it, because that would be a really fun job!

8) What are some of your favourite games?
If we're talking video games, I'm really into The Evil Within right now. Other than that, classics like Sonic the Hedgehog and Mario never get old. For board games, there's pretty much nothing I don't like to play, except Monopoly - I hate that game and I don't know why! I actually wish more people in my family liked board games because I never get to play them enough lol

9) Name a celebrity you look up to?
Kat Von D, hands down. I don't agree with all her relationships as she has the tendency to go from one to another too quickly, but I'll stay out of the personal aspect of her life. I had the opportunity to meet her at one of her book signings and she was so sweet and down to earth. I look up to her because look at the empire she's created for herself - she's a huge name in a male-dominated industry, she has her own shop and art gallery as well as her own clothing line and HUGE makeup line. Girl is amazing!!

10) List something you would change about the world.
I'd love to eliminate war. Just totally erase it and any thought of it. That would make everything better!

Sorry that turned into such a "my history of music love" there at the beginning, but hopefully you guys enjoyed getting to know a little bit more about me!

Kat Von D Shade + Light Face Brush

2 comments :
The Kat Von D Shade + Light double ended brush was made to go with the Shade + Light Contour Palette. This is an angled contour brush on one end, and a pointed highlighting brush on the other. The packaging is crazy, and the brush is nice and soft. Let's get into it!

Soap & Glory Endless Glove 2-in-1 Moisture Mask & Hand Cream

No comments :
I purchased this hand cream when I was looking for something to help my dry hands/eczema way back when Sephora was having sales - I believe it was during the VIB sale. It's been working well for me, but there's plenty of things I can mention about it, so I wanted to do a review.

Kat Von D Shade & Light Contour Palette

No comments :
It's here! The much-anticipated Shade & Light Contour Palette is now available at Sephora, and it's a beauty. At the time I ordered this, the contour and highlight brush wasn't yet available, so that will have to be a separate review! For now, here is the palette.

Little Updates

No comments :
Just thought I would pop in real quick and say hey! If you notice I changed a few things graphics-wise with the layout. I like it a little bit more now. Still not completely happy with it, but when it comes to layouts I never am and I'm always switching them up - if you've followed me for a while you'll know that!

As for things coming up this week, I have a Melt eyeshadow stack to review, and I will also be doing a review of the new Kat Von D Shade & Light Contour palette. There's also a few other reviews I need to get up, but I've been working on the Melt and KVD ones because I know those were pretty anticipated products. There are things I got from the Mac Lightness of Being collection that I need to review (nothing seems to be sold out yet so I'm not TOO late with those), and the new Maybelline Master Conceal concealer. That's what will be coming up in the next week or so!

Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector in Moonstone

No comments :
The Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector in Moonstone is the one I originally wanted when I accidentally ordered Opal a while back. Though I ended up liking it, I found that it was a little darker then what I like to use for a highlight, and I have to use it ever-so-lightly to be able to pull it off. With this one, it is much lighter and just works so much better for me.

NYX Wicked Lippie in Immortal

No comments :
My initial thought when the NYX Wicked Lippies were released was, "Holy crap are those gorgeous, but I'm never going to wear them." They are all deep gem tone shades and very metallic. Well, I finally caved and got the purple one, Immortal.

Celestial Seasonings Candy Cane Lane Holiday Tea

No comments :
I received this Candy Cane Lane tea in my Influenster Frosty VoxBox recently, and I figured I would give it a try! I'm not a big tea drinker, I'm more of a hot cocoa girl, but this one was pretty decent. If I have to drink tea, I normally go for green tea anyway, for some reason I just like it better. This has a very faint peppermint taste to it, but nothing overpowering. It is a little bit sweeter than tea normally is (to me anyway) but I added some sugar to it because that's just how I roll.

I don't know how food bloggers do it, because I'm finding it hard to write an entire page about the taste of tea! It says that it has hints of cinnamon and vanilla in it, but I get the peppermint flavor more than anything. Again, it's mild but definitely there. It's a nice flavor for a holiday tea, but I don't think I would like it year-round. Like I said, not a big tea drinker here!

This is only available in stores around the holidays, but as with pretty much anything, you can find it on Amazon if you really love it and want it all the time :)

Boots No7 Protect & Perfect Intense Advanced Serum

No comments :
I am intrigued by this serum that I received in my Influenster Frosty VoxBox, because it was only a small packet but I feel like it's a really nice face serum that I would use regularly if I were to purchase the full sized bottle! Now I am lucky that I have some pretty good genetics when it comes to wrinkles. If I showed you a picture of my grandma, you would never guess that she's going to be 80 this year. That being said, I believe you're never too young to start taking good care of your skin and using serums like this, so I was excited to try it out.

Obviously I can't tell you that it took away wrinkles, because I don't have any yet! I did use this around the outer edges of my eyes though, and can tell you that it feels slippery, almost silicone-y if you will, but it absorbs into the skin right away. It's a clear gel consistency, and you don't need much of it so I got a few uses out of this packet just using it around my eyes. It doesn't have much of a scent to it, just a faint pleasant aroma. I believe the full size tube of this is around $27, which isn't bad when it comes to a serum for wrinkles if you compare it to some of the other crazy stuff that's out there!

I definitely think this is a good alternative to some of the crazy expensive creams and serums that are out there. I didn't have any issues with it being oily, which is what I was afraid of, and it was definitely a nice little pick me up for my face at the end of the night, as it has a bit of a cooling effect to it too. I enjoyed it and if you can get your hands on a sample, by all means try it out!

Formula 10.0.6 Down to The Pore Pore Strips

No comments :
You guys are probably getting sick of my Formula 10.0.6 reviews, but this is the last of them that I have for right now! I just wanted to do a quick review on this product that I recently tried, because I had them in a haul video on my YouTube channel and said I didn't like them, but then changed my mind! These are the Down to the Pore pore strips. Apparently I didn't use the first strip I tried correctly, because I go it too wet and it did pretty much nothing. However, the second try was much more successful.
