Smile Brilliant Teeth Whitening System + Giveaway!

No comments :
I was contacted to try Smile Brilliant's teeth whitening system, and I wanted to record my whole process to share with you guys. I have a video coming soon to go along with this blog post, but I also wanted to talk a bit about my experience here as well. And read on until the end for a giveaway as well!

As a bit of a background, I've always had issues with my teeth. Every dentist I've ever been to has told me I have "soft" teeth, so even though I always brush and floss, I still end up with cavities. I also have some pretty noticeable staining even though I'm not a smoker, I don't drink coffee, etc. I've also never been incredibly comfortable with my teeth to begin with because they're definitely not perfect, so that in itself is a big thing for me. I was questioning whether or not this was a good idea because my teeth are pretty sensitive, but the fact that they had a desensitizing gel really sold me on it, so I agreed to give it a whirl!
I received a box in the mail that contained the whitening gels, desensitizing gels, mold trays and 3 containers each of catalyst paste and base paste. With these pastes, you mix one each of the catalyst and base pastes together to form the paste you will use to create your molds. (I cover this entire process in my video). First, make sure your teeth are freshly brushed and flossed. You do one mold at a time (top and bottom teeth) and have to leave the paste and mold in your mouth for 2 minutes and 30 seconds, and then remove it. You leave the final impressions in the trays, let them sit for at least 30 minutes, then rinse them and put them into the pre-addressed mailing envelope that is included. This goes straight to the lab so they can begin making your custom fitted trays.

I want to include a "before" picture so that you can see the progress:
It took about a week and then my trays came in the mail, so I was excited to get started! I made sure to read through all the information before starting because I didn't want to mess anything up. The first thing I did was brush my teeth with water and floss, as it instructs to do - toothpaste will reduce the whitening effectiveness. Then I put a ribbon of whitening gel in each tray and inserted them. Each whitening session I left them on for 45 minutes - I didn't want to overdo it just because I do have pretty sensitive teeth.

After the whitening trays come out, I brushed with toothpaste as I usually would, rinsed out the trays, and applied the desenitizing gel in the same way for about 20 minutes. When you take those trays out, you simply spit out any remaining gel, rinse the trays, and leave it at that. That's why it is recommended to do this at night before bed, because you shouldn't eat or drink for at least 30 minutes afterwards.

It's important for me to mention that not once did I experience any sensitivity or pain using the whitening gel, and that is HUGE for me because I've used whitening products before that have given me toothaches and basically made me never want to try them again!

After the first application, I could already tell my teeth were a little bit whiter.
After 1 whitening session. (Ignore my chapped lips lol!)
Here are a few more pictures:
After 3 sessions

After 5 sessions

I think I can definitely get them whiter still, it is a pretty simple process, and something I will definitely continue to do whenever I want to whiten my teeth.I really love the fact that you get custom fitted trays, because the results are so much better than just getting whitening strips from the drugstore. They're actually formed to your own teeth instead of being a generic shape, so the gels get in there and do their job a whole lot better!
