Maybelline Color Molten Shadow in Midnight Morph

No comments :
I have to admit, I was intrigued when I saw these new shadows from Maybelline. I usually enjoy most of their products, but this one really leaves something to be desired. Let's get into the review ...

Each of the Color Molten shadows is a duo that comes with 2 shades. I picked Midnight Morph, which is a shimmer beige and a shimmery black.
These remind me a bit of the ColourPop shadows, as they are soft and squishy to the touch like a cream, but apply like a powder. However, these are nowhere near as pigmented as ColourPop and I find I can't really apply these with a brush at all - I need to use my fingers or I won't get any color payoff whatsoever with them.

Both shades are pretty enough in the pan, but even when applying them with my finger they're not as pigmented as I would like them to be.

The beige is on the left, but you can barely see it against my skin. The black just transfers as a smokey charcoal shade, the sparkle really doesn't show up here at all.

I suppose it isn't the worst product ever, but I just wasn't impressed with this shadow at all. Definitely don't recommend it when there's brands like ColourPop that are not only cheaper but have far better color payoff!

I talk more about it in this video:
