MAC Lipglass in Nacho Cheese Explosion from The Simpsons Collection

No comments :
Yellow lipgloss?? I know, but it seemed like the one to get from The Simpsons collection! I'm a huge Simpsons fan and when I heard MAC was doing a collection based on Marge, I was so excited. This is another one of those collections I waited up all night for and had to set my alarm to go off every hour to check and see if it was on sale yet LOL. I have a feeling I'll be doing that at the end of the month with The Rocky Horror collection too, it's just neverending with MAC ...

Nacho Cheese Explosion is a bright yellow, and it is decently pigmented so it's not just one of those "it looks weird but goes on clear" colors. I own nothing like it in my collection, and while it's pretty weird on its own, it definitely works as a layering color!

Here's a better look at the color:

I really like the packaging for the products in this collection even though I know we were all hoping for lipsticks in the shape of Marge's hair!

Up close you can see a slight shimmer to the gloss, but it doesn't really transfer once it's spread out.

Here's where it gets weird - this is Nacho Cheese Explosion by itself:

I figured I'd try pairing it with Riot House lipstick from the Osbournes collection, just because I can never get that color to work for me either:
Still a bit on the pale side for me, but it makes the lipstick less orange which seems to work a little bit better - it seems to turn it into a nude instead.

To show you how it looks over a darker shade, I used it here over a mauvey pink lipstick from Rimmel:
As you can see, it doesn't really show up over dark shades. This is definitely one to play around with and mix with your lighter lipsticks/glosses to see what you come up with! Overall, I'm happy to have it as a cute addition to my collection and I'm sure I'll get a lot of use out of it regardless :)
