Makeup By One Direction - Up All Night Kit

No comments :
Today I finally have the review for you guys of one of the sets from the new Makeup By One Direction line! I was sent the "Up All Night" kit, which is the blue one. Let's have a look at what's inside!

The set comes in a tin that has a hinged lid. Unfortunately, my hinge fell apart as soon as I opened it, which is a bummer because the tine is actually pretty cute. It comes in a plastic sleeve that has the One Direction guys on the front, and the tin itself has a brick wall pattern on the lid. Inside of the cover shows you a few looks you can do, and each product has its own separate little spot inside.
Inside you can see you get an eye and body crayon, an eyeshadow palette, lipgloss, lipstick, mascara, nail polish, and some stencils.

The Liquilights Glow Gloss shade is called Taken, and it's a bright hot pink with tons of glitter in it. This is supposed to glow orange under a blacklight, I wish I had one handy so I could test it but unfortunately I don't!
The applicator is kind of like a paddle, not quite a normal doe foot applicator. It's much more fluorescent in person, it seems like my camera couldn't handle it!
This stuff is super glitter, but I think it's really pretty! It's nice and shiny on the lips and on its own it gives a bit of a pink color. It smells exactly like vanilla frosting, and you can *slightly* feel the glitter if you rub your lips together, but not too much. It's not sticky at all and does last for a few hours on the lips.

4+1 Eyeshadow Palette in Playful Blues & Versatile Neutrals. The packaging on this seems kind of flimsy, as it's just a thin plastic. It reminds me a lot of Wet n' Wild, which makes sense because they're both made by Markwins.
From left to right:
More Than That - soft pink satin, very smooth
Save You Tonight - shimmery turquoise blue, smooth and pigmented
Gotta Be You - silvery taupe shimmer, again very smooth and nice
Another World - metallic royal blue, this one is a little on the dusty side
Up All Night - sapphire glitter creme, can't get a lot of payoff out of this one.

Lipstick in I Should Have Kissed You, a bright bubblegum pink:
Unfortunately this got smashed into its cap during shipping, so it's not the prettiest! I will say though, that I LOVE this lipstick! It lasted for a solid 8 hours on my lips, which is crazy. It's very creamy and pigmented and stays put. I did notice it starting to gather in my lip lines at the end of the day, but you really can't fault it otherwise!

Little Black Dress Volumizing Mascara in Perfectly Black:
The tube is pretty lightweight, which makes it feel like there's not much product inside. The wand is thin and pretty basic:
This didn't do much for my lashes. With 2 coats I noticed a little bit of length, not much volume. It's a pretty dry formula, and for me those never seem to do much. Here is a shot with no mascara:
And with 2 coats of the mascara:

Nail Varnish in Na Na Na, described as an "aqua blue metallic chrome."
The formula is pretty thin and needs a good 2 coats but would probably look best with 3. Here is a 2-coat swatch:

Eye and Body Crayon in Stand Up, a dark denim shade:
This is really nice! It doesn't twist up, so you'll need to sharpen it, but it is very pigmented and glides on smoothly. The best part is that it doesn't stain at all, which is usually a problem with blues!

Last but not least we have the 5 piece decorator stencil set. And no, it's not a bunch of "1D" stencils like I was thinking! They're actually some cute little designs that will come in handy for body painting/special occasion/Halloween looks!
Lightning Bolts:

So there you have it, a first look at the Up All Night set from Makeup By One Direction! If you would like to see my first impressions video and live swatches of everything, you can check that out here:
