Dream Eyes Contact Lenses from SpookyEyes!

No comments :
I have a review I am pretty excited about today - these are fun contact lenses, as in they are colored and not prescription - but they've also got me excited for another reason. When I was about 12, I tried contacts and became very frustrated because I couldn't get them in. I gave up and never wanted to try them again, as I freaked out about having to touch my eyes. I was a little hesitant to do this review because I couldn't guarantee that I'd be able to wear them. Well guess what? Maybe I was just too young before, because it literally took me 5 minutes to get these in.

The contacts are by Dream Eyes, but they are from SpookyEyes.com, where they have a variety of colored/crazy contact lenses.

The ones I have are called Hulk Eye Contact Lenses (because, why wouldn't I pick ones that were named after The Hulk? haha) and they come in separate little disposable packages like this:
Mind you, these are year-long wear lenses, so if you take good care of them they will last you an entire year. Here is a close-up of one of them before I put them on:
So the moment of truth: I figured out a simple way to get them in, and once I realized it was a piece of cake, I've decided I need to make an appointment with my eye doctor to get measured for contacts. I was thinking about it, and with everything I do with makeup and my YouTube channel, it is going to be so much easier to just have contacts and not have to rely on my glasses all the time. Sometimes I have to deal with the glare from the lighting on my glasses, but the biggest thing that bugs me is when I do tutorials. I can never see unless I'm right up against the mirror when I apply my makeup, and that makes filming hard because I tend to dip out of frame a lot. Having contacts for this, and even for day-to-day when I'm doing my makeup, is going to make it so much easier.

So, I will shut up about my contact lens revelation, and go on to tell you about these Hulk lenses:
I naturally have brown eyes, and these lenses make them an awesome shade of green.
You can still see a little bit of my natural eye color in the center, which gives it a cool effect. Now, I have astigmatisms in both eyes, so I tend to see little edges of the green. But again, these aren't prescription/were not fitted for my eyes, so there's that. Aside from the fact that my eyes watered a bit when I first put them in, they didn't really bug me too much. They are soft lenses (I guess I should mention that!) and they're very easy to put in and remove. Trust me, I never thought I'd be able to wear contacts and I got them in and out without a problem!

Here's a comparison shot of my natural eye and the Hulk eye!
I wish that I had tried some contacts sooner, because I can't believe I went so long complaining about glasses when I could have been doing the contact thing all along. Geeze. Well, live and learn, I guess! I'm glad I had the opportunity to try these out because I'm for sure going to look into some prescription ones now!

Check out SpookyEyes.com to check out all the awesome pairs they sell, and I hope you enjoy!
