Hourglass Ambient Lighting Palette

No comments :
This palette has been haunting me lately. A total "Youtube made me buy it" product! I kept going back and forth on whether or not I wanted this or just one of the single powders - I knew I wanted to try them because people have been raving about how great they are - but the thing is, just because there's 3 colors in here doesn't make it a bargain. A full sized Ambient Lighting Powder is $45 and comes with 9.9 grams of product. The palette is $58 an each of the colors inside contain 3.3 grams of product, making the total amount of product in the palette 9.9 grams, so you're paying more for the same amount of product. I'm not complaining, because I snagged it during the Friends and Family sale.

I ultimately went with the palette instead of a single powder because I figured it would give me a chance to try out 3 different shades and see how I liked the product. I don't regret it, because I ended up loving all 3! Let's take a look...
The outer packaging was hard to photograph because it's very reflective, but I still wanted to show how it came packaged!
It was sitting nicely in some velvety foam padding, and also came with a sample of the Veil Mineral Primer which I love and have already reviewed HERE.
The palette itself is a mirrored, dark brown. Very pretty and sleek, but is one of those things that easily picks up fingerprints!

The shades included are Dim Light, Incandescent Light (limited edition exclusive to this palette) and Radiant Light.

Each one can be used all over the face, on their own or as a finishing powder over your foundation. You can also use them just in certain areas to highlight. They are an amazing little product that gives you a smooth, glowing complexion. All of them are ridiculously soft and feel like silk to the touch!

Dim Light contains no shimmer and gives a soft, diffused glow to your skin. This one is definitely my favorite to use as an all-over powder.

Incandescent Light with flash:

Incandescent Light is the limited edition shade and gives a soft shimmery glow to your face - definitely the lightest of the three. I have been loving using this in my highlight areas, because it does have that nice shimmer to it and looks perfect in the sunlight!

Radiant Light gives a warm golden glow to the skin. I like to use this one in my contour areas/areas I would normally bronze just because it is darker than the other shades and gives a nice effect.

Though I was skeptical at first, I am now completely happy that I purchased this, as I have been using it every single day! I would definitely recommend it if you are curious about the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powders. They really ARE all they're cracked up to be!
