NYX Born to Glow Liquid Illuminator in Sunbeam

If you watch my YouTube Channel (and I'm sure I've mentioned it on here as well), you'll know I've been obsessing over highlighters, and recently I've been obsessing over whether or not to buy the NARS Copacabana one. It's gorgeous and I play with it every time I'm in Sephora, but ultimately pass up on it because of the $30 price tag and the fact that I will probably never go through all of it - I mean really, you need the TINIEST bit of it and it's a pretty good sized tube. Wel,, while at Ulta the other day I cam across this gem - the NYX Liquid Illuminator in Sunbeam - and it is a pretty darn close dupe for the NARS one!!! I don't know why I never thought of this before, I know I have seen this product before for sure. I think it's just because I recently started lusting after the NARS one, I saw this one and a lightbulb went off in my head that made me thing "hey, maybe that's a cheaper alternative!"
It has the same type of packaging, just a squeeze tube-type thing, which luckily isn't too hard to control - you definitely don't want to go overboard with products like these! They have another shade that I should have swatched because it looked pretty close to the other NARS liquid luminator, Orgasm. For $6.99 I may as well pick that one up next time and give it a go!
The product itself is smooth and creamy. It it more of pink-toned illuminator than the other one, which is a golden-peachy color. (If you've seen NARS Orgasm, it looks very close to that) and it gives your skin a gorgeous glow.
This is a heavier swatch of it so you can see it better.
And here it is blended out a bit more. It's not quite as glittery as the NARS Copacabana, but I actually like that about this. I figured the glittery-ness might be overkill for a highlighter that I want to get a lot of use out of.
I like to apply this by putting some on my fingertip and dotting it along my cheekbones, then blend it in. It works well with pretty much any blush I use and just gives a soft glow to my face. The fact that I've been using the Kat Von D Foundation religiously, which is a super matte foundation, is probably contributing to my recent love for highlighters since they help the face look not-so-flat. I would definitely recommend checking these out if you're in a predicament like me wher eyou want to get the NARS ones but don't want to commit to their crazy price tag! This one is excellent quality, blends amazingly, and is just an all-around great product worth checking out!!
