Too Faced The Power of Makeup by NikkieTutorials

No comments :
Today I've got the NikkieTutorials and Too Faced collab to talk about! I was excited when I saw the palette because it's just so pretty, plus it comes with some extra goodies which makes it really worth the price tag. I also really enjoy Nikkie's videos and have been subscribed to her for ages, so I had to show support!

The set came with some goodies in a separate baggie pictured above (top right corner of the photo). Inside is a mini Better Than Sex Mascara in purple:

I've found that the Better Than Sex Mascara doesn't really do much for my lashes, and this is no different. It is a pretty color and definitely gives my lashes a purple tint, but it doesn't really do anything as far as volume or length.

Then there is a loose glitter pot called Gliterally:

This is like a toned down holo glitter - instead of a rainbow of colors that show up, this is mostly silver, orange and green iridescent glitters.

You also receive a travel size Shadow Insurance:

And a full size of one of their new Sketch Marker liners in Black:
I love that this looks like a pen, it even has a little clip on the cap!

The tip is extremely similar to the Kat Von D Ink Liners. The formula is very similar as well. It's jet black and long-wearing, dries fast, and doesn't budge once it sets!

Now for the palette ...
It opens like a thin book and has a magnetic closure. It's size is great, very sleek and not bulky at all. You get 9 shadows, 2 blushes, a bronzer and a highlighter. Here are some swatches of the shadows...

Top to bottom:
Ivy is a matte cream. This blends great and is super smooth.
Sugar Coated is a pale sparkly pink. This has quite a bit of fall out/glitter kick-up, but it's a very pretty shade.
Frosted Yum is a metallic silver. I feel like Too Faced does this shade a lot and just names it different things lol.

Irresistible is a metallic gold.
Painkiller is a matte light brown, almost camel shade. It is a perfect transition color.
Makeup & Chill is a matte chocolate brown. This one is a little patchy when you swatch it, but it applies and blends nicely on the lid.

Mystic Hour is the most gorgeous blackened teal. It's incredibly smooth and insanely pigmented. Easily my favorite color in the palette.
Wham Bam is a bright purple with a hint of iridescent shine to it. I am very impressed with the pigmentation in this one, because a lot of the time when I see a bright purple in a palette, it fails when it comes to being nicely pigmented!
Wanted is a matte smokey black.

Then we have the 2 blushes:
I Will Always Love You is a gorgeous peach with a tiny hint of gold. Not shimmery, but just enough to give you an awesome glow.
Justify My Love is a bubblegum pink, such a fun color.

My Chocolate Soleil is very dry and takes a lot to build it up, but I've had this product before and didn't have that issue, so I'm not sure what's going on there. It does have that awesome chocolate scent though, so as long as that's wafting up my nostrils as I'm doing my makeup, I'm happy! hahaha
Champagne Truffle is the epitome of "glow." It can be used for a very subtle glow, or layered on for a way out there glow. It's a super gorgeous pale pink and I am in love with it!
So there you have it! I hope you guys enjoyed my little review of the Power of Makeup collection. It is pretty on par with the quality of other Too Faced products, with the exception of Chocolate Soleil and how dry it feels. I LOVE that Mystic Hour shadow and the I Will Always Love You blush, as well as the Champagne Truffle highlighter!
