Tarte x grav3yardgirl Tarteist Lip Paints in Texas Toast and Swamp Family

I had never tried the Tarteist Lip Paints before I got these, so I was pretty excited to test them out. Let me tell you, this formula is AWESOME! They for some reason didn't catch my eye when Tarte first came out with them, but now that I've tried them I NEED more shades!

I liked both colors so I ended up grabbing these when they went up on Ulta's website. They have been selling like crazy and Swamp Family is an online exclusive color, so if you're looking for it, be sure to check online! Sephora, Ulta, Macy's, and the Tarte site were the only places at the time of this post that has had them on sale, to my knowledge.

Texas Toast is a mauvey shade, but it tends to dry down to a browner shade on my lips. You'll see in the lip swatches that the edges of my lips are darker - I didn't use any liner with these, it's just that it darkens up a bit after being applied. Swamp Family is a bright cherry red.

I really love the formula of these. It is very moussey and creamy feeling and applies so smoothly. It feels nice on the lips and though it doesn't dry down completely, it is matte and pretty transfer-proof! I think that's the best part about it - it doesn't dry out your lips and feels comfortable while lasting for hours and still staying creamy. They have a slight peppermint scent to them, but it's not overpowering. I highly recommend these to anyone who loves the look of matte lips but hates how drying some of the liquid to matte lipsticks can be!!
