Tarte x grav3yardgirl Swamp Queen Palette

No comments :
I was able to get my hands on this Tarte grav3yardgirl palette during the presale, and it's already here!
At first glance, I have to say right off the bat that besides the gator on the front, this doesn't really scream "Bunny" to me. The wood doesn't really fit, I figured that would have been camo. It's very neutral and wait - no GATOR GREEN? I for sure expected a green in this palette, but I digress.
You get 9 shadows with a good mix of finishes, and a bronzer, blush, and highlighter that I quite enjoy.
It also includes a little fluffy shadow brush which is very soft. I used it to apply my my lid color (I just filmed a Get Ready With Me video featuring this) and it worked nicely. Not a very big brush so it's not going to cover a lot of surface area, but a nice brush nonetheless.
The bronzer is called Sweet Tea and it is a liiiittle dark for me. It's a slightly orangey brown. I can use this as an eyeshadow to get use out of it though for sure!
The blush is Does This Thing Really Work. This is a gorgeous deep rosey pink with slight shimmer to it. I like this a lot paired with the highlighter!
The highlighter is called Gator Wings and it is VERY pigmented and VERY shimmery. It's a champagne with a gold tone to it, and this is going to be awesome for summer. It gives you a killer glow!

Now for the shadows ...
#SFS is a light, shimmery champagne.
Natural Peaches is a matte peach.
Dogman is an orange toned brown with gold and orange glitters in it.

Big Baby is a matte cream.
Sassy Bun is a metallic golden brown.
Sippy Sippy is a matte brown with gold glitters.

Haunting is a light, satiny mauve.
Uncommon is a shimmery taupe.
Mancat is a deep, blackened purple.

The shadows perform very nicely - Tarte makes some of the best matte formula shadows out there, so I definitely knew those would be good. I haven't had any issues with fallout, and they all blend smoothly and evenly with no patchiness. Definite thumbs up on the shadows in this palette!

As I said, the bronzer is a bit dark for me but I will get use out of it as a shadow. The blush and highlighter are both GORGEOUS and I think they look great together. It's easy to go overboard with the highlighter, so make sure you apply a little at a time to avoid looking like a disco ball. Unless you are going for that super sparkly highlight, then disco on!

I would definitely recommend this palette when it comes back in stock, it's a great neutral collection and I like that it's got the face products in there too, makes it very travel-friendly.
