MAC Bao Bao Wan Beauty Powder in Summer Opal

Bao Bao Wan was another MAC collection with an insane release. This was originally supposed to come out last year some time, but was pulled and pushed back, then got pushed back again this year (it was supposed to be released last month). When it finally launched, it went on Nordstrom first, but the stuff wasn't even on the site and people were calling in phone orders because they had the product numbers somehow. Most of the stuff sold out before they actually put it online. I ended up getting mine from Macy's, where there was another glitch - it let you add stuff to your bag, but then told you it wasn't available. I checked out anyway and my order went through lol! Amidst all this craziness, MAC finally put it up on their site 3 days earlier than they said they were going to. The things we go through for makeup.

At any rate, this is the Beauty Powder in Summer Opal and man oh man it is gorgeous! I love this one far more than the Coupe d'Chic Iridescent Powder I got from the Cinderella collection.

The packaging is so pretty. While it doesn't have a mirror, it is a gorgeous deep forest green color, and it's all glittery. The inside border is gold.

The powder is very smooth and pigmented, and blends nicely. It is a peach with a golden shimmer, and works great as a highlight. At first I was worried it might be too dark to use as a highlighter, but it works well for me once it's blended out.

I really love this one and even though MAC drives me crazy with their lack of information about release times, it was worth the aggravation to get it in the end.
