Man Review: Smooth Viking Beard Oil, Balm & Conditioner
For the first time ever, I'm going to have my husband Stephen take the reins to review these beard products from Smooth Viking! It was fitting that he has a full beard right now for the winter, so I made sure he put these to the test so he can review them for you guys :)
The Beard Balm comes in a little tin and contains 2 oz. of product. This is supposed to be used to "style and invigorate" your beard. I don't have one of those long moustaches that you can twist and style, but I don't think this is meant for that. It doesn't have a super strong hold like a wax, but it's got enough to where it helps shape your beard and tame stray hairs. There is no scent to it, which is nice because I tend to not like things with a heavy fragrance anyway. The product is just clear.
To use it, you scrape out a little bit with the back of your nail (it's not very hard, so it's easy to get out), and you rub it between your fingers then work it through your beard where you want to tame any areas.
The Beard Conditioner looks almost identical to the Beard Balm:
You also get 2 oz. of product with this, and this is used to "condition and nourish." This is also clear and also does not have a scent to it. You are supposed to scrape out a pea-sized amount and rub it between your fingers, then work it through your beard from root to tip. I've actually been enjoying this stuff quite a bit, as I've seen a noticeable difference in the softness of my beard.
The Beard Oil comes in a glass container with an eye dropper-like applicator:
With this you also get 2 oz. of product, and a little bit goes a long way. This is to "moisturize and keep your beard healthy and itch-free." You don't need much, only a few drops between your fingers, and you massage it throughout your beard.
The oil and the conditioner together have been really keeping my beard soft. I'm not big on the balm just because i don't tend to "style" my beard much, but I'm sure if you want something to tame your beard, this would be right up your alley. I highly recommend the Smooth Viking brand for beard care!
