Kat Von D Shade + Light Face Brush

The Kat Von D Shade + Light double ended brush was made to go with the Shade + Light Contour Palette. This is an angled contour brush on one end, and a pointed highlighting brush on the other. The packaging is crazy, and the brush is nice and soft. Let's get into it!

The plastic case that it comes in is supposed to be coffin-shaped but to me, it looks more like a crystal. Still cool nonetheless. At $34, it's more than I normally spend on one brush, but it is really nice quality and the packaging is, of course, a plus.

The handle is sturdy, and not so thick that it's awkward to hold. It had the KVD insignia right in the middle, and also says "Shade" and "Light" which I apparently failed to take pictures of lol!

The angled end is nice. I find myself using it for blush more than anything else. It does apply your contour right where you want it and is a great shape, but it's not as dense or stiff as what I like for buffing out my contour shade. It does blend out my blush nicely, which is why I've been using it for that.

The pointed end is perfect! It's such a great shape for highlighting, and it's the perfect size for my cheekbones, temples, everywhere I put a highlight shade on my face. This is definitely becoming my most reached for brush when it comes to that!

All in all, I definitely like the brush. It's super soft and cleans up nice - I haven't experienced any shedding at all. The contour side isn't as much of a buffing brush as I thought it would be, but that's okay because I've been using it for blush and it works fine, so it's not like I'm not going to get any use out of it. I really enjoy the pointed end for highlighting, so that's another bonus! The only downfall, to me anyway, is that it is double ended. The only reason I dislike double ended brushes is because I can't just stick them in my holder with the rest of my brushes. Other than that, this is a win!

I talk more about the brush in this video:
