Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector in Opal

No comments :
The last few times I was in an actual Sephora, I was playing with the Becca Shimmering Skin Perfectors. This is a brand that has been really consistent with having awesome stuff and I don't own too much of it, so I was interested in trying one of these. I must have swatched one that was in the wrong place, because I ordered this one thinking it was the one I liked best in the store, and it turns out it should have been Moonstone (which I also ended up getting but will review separately). At any rate, this one in Opal is still gorgeous, but a lot different!

Opal is very shimmery and very pigmented - it is so smooth that it almost feels creamy, and you need to be light handed with it so as not to look like a disco ball.

It's a very light golden powder. Really gorgeous, but this one is so shimmery that there's no way I can see ANYONE using it as an all-over finishing powder like they say you're supposed to. I think no matter what skin tone you are, this would look ridiculous if you did that. For me, it's just been strictly a highlighter.
This particular shade reminds me a lot of Mary Lou-Manizer from The Balm except this is a bit darker. I was worried at first that it was going to be too deep for a highlight and I wouldn't be able to use it for anything, but it definitely works. I think it would be even better as a highlighter for darker skin tones than mine, but I do like it. The reason Moonstone works better for me is it's a lot lighter and not quite as shimmery, but I will get into that when I review that one!

Hope you guys enjoyed this review and be sure to follow my blog for more! For a live swatch of this powder, check out my video:
