Every now and then MAC puts out a blush that I just have to have because it looks so unique and different from anything else that I have in my collection. This was one of those. It is Animal Instincts from their "A Novel Romance" collection, and it is a deep plum shade with a frost finish. Let's have a look at it!
I tend to always go for bright pink when it comes to blush, so a deep plum like this is way out of my comfort zone. However, as long as you are light handed with this, it doesn't apply as scary as it looks (to me, anyway) in the pan.
It blends great, just as well as any other MAC blushes I've tried.
Here is a heavy swatch on the left, and it blended out on the right:
If you go too heavy with it, it's definitely one of those colors that's going to make you look bruised! Like I said, if you are light handed, it is really pretty, especially on pale skin. I think this is going to be a really great blush shade for fall!
