Tarte Rainforest After Dark Palette

No comments :
This was one of those palettes that I couldn't stop thinking about after I saw it, so it ended up being my Birthday present to myself! I don't think I've bought anything from Tarte since the Tarte for True Blood palette came out. For some reason, their stuff never strikes me as something I need. But with this, the packaging was awesome for one, and I love that it's an all-in-one palette. The shadow colors are gorgeous too!

The outside of the palette looks like wood grain, and it has a gold snake with a little purple gem on its head.

Inside there's a pretty big mirror, and there's a plastic insert that tells you the names of all the products/shades.

You get a highlighter, a bronzer, an Amazonian clay blush, and 6 eyeshadows.

The highlight shade is called Champagne, and it is just that - a champagne shade!
It is very subtle which is nice, but you can build it up to the intensity that you want.

The bronzer is their Park Ave. Princess bronzer, which I have tried before in a sample size and enjoyed.
This is very light, so it's great for pale skin tones like mine, but I'm sure if you have a medium to dark skin tone, you won't get much use out of this!

The blush is called Unleashed, and it is a full size Amazonian Clay Blush.
This is also a very subtle shade, and it's perfect for when you just want a light flush of color on your cheeks. It's a medium pink shade that blends AMAZINGLY. This is my first time trying one of their blushes, and I am pleasantly surprised with how much I like it.

The first eyeshadow shade is called Bare to Explore. It is a pinky-nude matte.
I've been using this one a lot to blend out all the other colors in the palette whenever I do a look with it.

Next we have Make a Mauve, which is a mauvey rose shade with gold sparkle.
This is gorgeous and pretty unique to any of the shades in my collection.

Plum Away With Me is probably my favorite shade here. It's a plummy cranberry with silver sparkles.
I can see myself using this a lot this holiday season!

Up to No Gold is and out-of-this-world gold shade. It is so rich and pigmented, it's like a less in-your-face version of Makeup Geek's Liquid Gold.
I love pairing this one with the Plum Away With Me shade, they look great together.

Tan-gled Up In You is a great transition shade - it's just a matte tan, perfect for the crease.
I use this one pretty much every time I use this palette!

Last is Don't Turn A-Brown, a deep matte brown.
I like that they included this shade, because you can make any look you do with this palette a night time look with this one by popping it in your outer corners and smoking it out.

All in all, I think this palette is a great deal and definitely worth it - I've been using it a ton! I like the convenience of having the blush, highlighter and bronzer in there as well. It makes it quick and easy to do your makeup in the morning because you're not grabbing for different products. Definitely gets a 2 thumbs up rating from me!
