Marc Jacobs Love and Lust 1000 Point Sephora Perk

No comments :
So THIS happened. I knew it was coming sooner or later because I haven't used my point for anything in about a year now. When they announced that there was now a 1,000 point perk, I saved them up until I finally reached it, and picked up this set. It's a fancy box that includes a full-size Marc Jacobs Lip Vinyl, and a full size Marc Jacobs LoveMarc Gel Lipstick.

It also comes with a little booklet talking about the colors, and the Marc Jacobs line in general:
When I saw these online, they both looked like they were red, but they're actually not.

The Lust For Lacquer Lip Vinyl is in the color Shooting Stars.
This is a raisin berry color with tons of shimmer. It has a doe foot applicator:
It has the consistency of a lipgloss, but it is indeed a liquid lipstick because it's incredibly pigmented. It has a fruity yet menthol scent, but it's not overpowering. The menthol is there because it definitely tingles, but in the way that the Buxom glosses do - they tingle and feel cool, but don't burn at all.
This stuff gives your lips a brilliant shine, and lasts for hours without fading. The shine will fade, but the color stays pretty vibrant. It tends to have a staining effect so it ends up lightly fading while still keeping color on your lips at the end of the day if you don't touch it up at all.
The one thing I will say is, when you wipe it off use a makeup wipe or a makeup remover. I wiped it off for the first time just using a tissue, and I was left with a ton of silver glitter on my lips! It needs something moist to remove it, because otherwise the glitter just wants to stick to your skin.

Now for the lipstick. This is called LoveMarc Lip Gel and it is in the color Cabaret, a deep cranberry. I initially thought this would be too dark, but I ended up loving not only the color but the formula as well!
The case is super fancy - it's magnetic, so when you go to put the lid back on, it just sort of sucks it back on!
You can probably tell just by the picture that this is a smooth, creamy lipstick. It definitely FEELS like a gel, it's hard to explain. It glides on effortlessly, is extremely pigmented, and feels like you have nothing on your lips.
I can't even tell you guys how much I love this lipstick. They're normally $30, which is insane for just one lipstick, but I'm seriously considering getting another just because I love it so much. It does transfer slightly, but it seriously stays on all day long! I can put it on in the morning and it will still be on my lips at night (it also has a staining effect!)

This is a great set and I'm really glad I saved up my points! Granted you had to buy enough at Sephora to get to 1,000 points so I don't know how great a deal it was, but to get a $60 value gift for free is pretty cool in my book!

I talk about the set more in my Birthday video!
