When I saw that the "Clueless Witch" collection was coming out from Lime Crime, I fell in love with Wicked, the super dark red-berry color. The other 2 colors were Salem, a chocolate brown, and Black Velvet, a black. I knew I would hardly ever wear those two so I opted for the red.
If you have been following my blog for a while, you may remember that I reviewed Red Velvet and Pink Velvet - if you would like to see that review, click here! I thought it was great that they were adding more colors to the Velevtine line, they are a pretty amazing product.
So, Wicked...where to start? This is a great super deep berry red color. It's darker than what I normally go for, but it seems like I own a million hot pink lipsticks and no berry reds. This was a good choice, I'm happy to say.
The applicator is a short doe foot, I said in my last review that I'd rather apply these with a lip brush, as you can get more precise and make less of a mess than with these types of applicators, especially when it comes to super pigmented products like this.
Most of the time, dark lipsticks scare me away because they can be so much to have to maintain and touch-up throughout the day. Not to mention, you have to super-prep your lips to ward off feathering/bleeding/fading and any other disasters that can make your mouth look a hot mess.
With the Velvetines, you don't have to worry about any of that.
At first, if you put on too much product it will want to try and feather. You just have to go lightly with it. Once these suckers set, they do not budge! In these swatches I didn't even use any type of lip primer and didn't experience any feathering so that is a quality lip product! They dry really quickly, and once they are dry you can hardly tell there's anything on your lips. I always give a quick blot on a tissue after they dry, just to kiss off any excess - because once you do that, there's not going to be ANY transferring at all! That is why I love these, they're much like my favorite liquid lipsticks ever, the Kat Von D Everlasting Love ones! You've got to love a lipstick that can go all day long even through eating and drinking and won't even transfer onto anything.
The only time I ever have to touch this color up during the day is if I've eaten something oily, such as salad dressing. Even then, it only seems to wear off the lipstick in the center of my lips so it's not that big of a deal. I really can't find any other faults!
I included the lipstick in this haul video:
