Lavanila Pure Vanilla Natural Deodorant

No comments :
For a few years now I have been trying just about every single natural deodorant product you can think of. There's so many of them, and nothing seems to work well for me. Lavanila is a much-loved brand in the beauty community so I finally caved and bought the travel size to try it out. At $8 for the travel size, that's a pretty hefty price tag so it's GOTTA work...right?

I should probably give you a bit of a back story: I pretty much swore off regular deodorants a while ago. There's so many reports about how it can contribute to causing breast cancer, and just not being good for you in general. My grandma has survived breast cancer twice and won't touch the stuff anymore. So I would rather stay away from it, but that has been a difficult journey.

You might remember I reviewed the Muddy H2O Pit Powder a few months back. That stuff was working great for me! But, as with every other kind, after a few weeks it just stopped doing anything. I don't know if that happens to anyone else, but the best way to describe it is that my body must just get used to it, and it's basically like not wearing ANY deodorant by the time I'm halfway through the day. Yeah, not cool.

So this one seemed very promising - it has an extremely awesome scent - very perfumey with a slight hint of vanilla. I figured since most of the others I've tried were either very lightly scented or smelled like straight up plants, this one would work much better odor-protection wise.

There are several scents but you can only get the travel size in the original scent, Pure Vanilla, so that is what I went with. I honestly LOVE the smell of this stuff. It's probably the best smelling deodorant I have ever used! But, performance? It doesn't do much. It smells great for maybe an hour and then fades to nothing.

TMI but I do sweat a lot, so maybe it's just me. I know A LOT of people swear by this stuff and I'm really disappointed that I didn't find my holy grail natural deodorant yet. Which, by the way, if ANYONE knows of an awesome one, please let me know in the comments and I will try it! I really have tried so many - the Crystal line, Muddy H2O, Tom's of Maine, the natural Arm and Hammer one among a slew of others- nothing has worked so far. Am I destined to live with smelly pits?! lol!!

I talk a little bit more about the deodorant here:
