NYX has released a bunch of new products for spring! Their new baked blush got me just by the packaging alone. It's got an adorable bow on the front where it snaps shut, and just looked fancy. Check it out...
The color I got is called Wanderlust, a slightly shimmery peach shade.
The packaging itself is a little bulkier than I thought it would be - I ordered this online therefore didn't see it in person first. But, the bow is just way too cute!
The first time I tried this, I was worried I was going to have to give it a bad review. When you first feel it, it has a very dry, rough texture and not a lot of pigmentation to it. But I wasn't going to give up on it just yet! If you rub away that top layer of rough product, what's underneath is smooth and pigmented. So if you happen to get one of these, just know that they are probably all this way and need that top layer rubbed off! It's not even a ton of product that you have to rub off, just a thin layer. I swirled my brush around in it a few times and that did the trick. I have heard a few bad reviews so far and I think that's what the problem is, because I had no issues after getting rid of that top layer of roughness.
The color is a VERY spring color. It's is light and gives just a hint of shimmer and color to the cheeks.
On some skin tones this could even work as a highlight, though I think it's a little too dark for me to do so. This color is definitely buildable so you can go for a sheer wash of peach on your cheeks, or add more for a more pigmented peach cheek. If you enjoy a good affordable blush, you can't go wrong with these at $7.00. I definitely will be using this one a lot this spring!
