MAC Tropical Taboo: Sweet Samba Mineralize Blush

No comments :
I haven't bought something from a MAC collection in AGES. I always look at them when they come out, but nothing has really struck me lately. When I saw the Tropical Taboo collection, I thought it was gorgeous but the thing that stood out most to me was this blush. Never tried a MAC mineralize blush before, so I figured why not!

I tried to order it on the MAC site, but it kept saying "Coming Soon" for all the mineralize blushes. So I tried Nordstrom and had better luck, though they had me nervous because they had the picture of the Simmer blush pictured for both Simmer AND Sweet Samba so I was hoping they wouldn't send me the wrong one. They didn't.

You can pretty much get 3 colors out of this - a peachy tan, a bright hot pink, or when blended together they make a more muted pink. All gorgeous!
And here they are swatched:
From left to right is the 2 blended together, the pink, and the peach.

Now the only other MAC blush I own one from the Archie's Girls collection, the Pearl Matte Face Powder which is more of a highlighter than a blush - that one has very little pigmentation so I was really surprised when I saw how pigmented this one was. A little goes a LONG way and it is pretty dark for my fair skintone. I keep saying I need a tan just so I can wear this blush lol. But if I use a really light hand I can pull it off.
I'm wearing it in these 2 photos with my 4th of July look. I am actually quite surprised a lot of the Tropical Taboo collection is still available online - it's one of the prettiest collections I've seen in a long time and it's not sold out?!

I talk about the blush here as well:
