The Charlie and the Chocolate Factory Palette from Storybook Cosmetics is the first I've ever tried from the brand, but as the book and movie were a huge part of my childhood, I could not resist it! I saw that they were being sold on Ulta now, and had a bunch of points to cash in so I had to snag it while it's still available.
The packaging is adorable - the palette itself looks like a book and has a laminated Golden Ticket inside. There are 12 eyeshadow shades that vary in texture/finish.
Charlie Bucket - shimmery white gold
Snozzberries - matte orange
Augustus Gloop - matte tan
Mike Teavee - matte seafoam green
Willy Wonka - metallic berry
Oompa-Loompa - matte yellowy orange
All of the shades here are pretty decent, except Mike Teavee needs some extra work to get good pigmentation out of it. Works best over a sticky white base.
Fizzy Lifting Drink - pale metallic yellow gold with silver sparkle
Veruca Salt - matte white
Everlasting Gobstopper - matte hot pink
Violet Beauregarde - matte purple with silver sparkle
Wonka Bar - matte chocolate
Golden Ticket - metallic true gold
Veruca Salt could be a little less chalky and more pigmented, but the rest of these shades are nice. I think Violet Beauregarde is my favorite out of the whole palette - and Golden Ticket! That one is an awesomely opaque true gold.
The quality of the shadows in this palette is pretty nice. My biggest issue that I have with it is that a lot of the colors don't seem to go with the names that they chose for them. Why seafoam for Mike? Or white for Veruca Salt? I know they were going by the original book, but whenever I think of her, I think of the red dress from the movie lol. I also question the gold for Fizzy Lifting Drink, as there didn't need to be that gold PLUS the metallic gold in my opinion. But these are just nit-picky things. I quite enjoy the palette and I love the packaging. It looks great on my vanity!
