Kat Von D Shade & Light Glimmer Palette

No comments :
With as much as I love the Kat Von D Shade & Light palette, I knew I had to get the glimmer one as SOON as it hit Sephora! It has basically all the same shades from the first Shade & Light, but in shimmer/metallic formulas.
The packaging is made of a sturdy plastic and the words "Shade + Light" are raised, so it looks really cool! The "Kat Von D Eye" part of it is holographic, which just adds to the awesomeness of this palette.
The back of the palette has all the names of the shadows laid out, as her palettes normally do.
Inside are 12 gorgeous shades! The 3 base shades at the top are more of a satin finish, while the other vary between metallic, shimmery, and glittery.

The first of the large shades on the top is called Porcelain. This is a cream color with a satin finish.

The second is Dusk, which is a light taupe. This is one of my favorites!

The third is called Dune, which is a warm tan.

Then I swatched the others in sets of 3:
Copper is a chocolate brown with a metallic finish.
Bronze is a deep brown with gold sparkle.
Sterling is a light cream with gold and silver sparkle.

Cinder is a deep metallic brown.
Onyx is a matte black with silver sparkle.
Glacier is a white with silver sparkle.

Rust is a metallic red brown.
Jasper is a medium brown with gold sparkle.
Quartz is a metallic champagne with silver sparkle.

All of the shades in this palette are absolutely gorgeous. I did notice that the Onyx shade isn't as dark as her black shadows normally are, but with a couple swipes I was able to build it up to be super dark, and the sparkles do show up and transfer nicely. When I first started playing around with it, I was worried that the super sparkly shades might be trouble to pick up on a brush, or that they might have a lot of fallout, but that hasn't been the case at all. I know a "glimmer brush" came out with this palette but honestly, every brush I've used with it has worked just fine. If you love shimmery shadows as much as I do, this palette is a MUST! It definitely gets two thumbs up from me - gorgeous!!

I purchased mine from Sephora, but it is also available at katvondbeauty.com.
