I am super excited to tell you guys about these today because I LOVE them. I had never heard of Studio Gear before, but after trying these it's definitely a brand that I want to get more products from!
So these are called Whipped Stain Glosses, which I think is slightly misleading - whenever I think of gloss I think of sheer gel-like products and these aren't at all. These are more like liquid lipsticks. Comfortable, non-matte liquid lipsticks.
The packaging is very simple and the wand is like a doe foot, but it has a curve on the end which makes applying the product super easy.
Let me show you the colors and I'll get more into their performance after!
True Pebble is my favorite out of the 5 colors that they have. This is a pinky nude, a color that I wear pretty much for every day wear.
True Red is a classic bright red:
True Burgundy is a brown with a slight reddish hint to it:
True Fuchsia is a crazy bright pink:
And last but not least we have True Wine, a deep berry color:
The texture of these is very creamy. Not too thick, but not runny either. I find that one swipe is pretty much completely opaque (I have a little patchiness with the Burgundy one, but all the others are fine). They don't have much of a scent at all to them, which will make those who are sensitive to scented lip products happy!
As you can see from the pictures, they have a bit of a shine to them, but I still wouldn't consider them a gloss. The stain part of the name comes in because these babies last for hours! They are so insanely comfortable and cushiony on the lips, it doesn't feel like a stain at all. The color kind of sinks into your lips while you're wearing it, and leaves a stain so that it just looks less shiny than when you first put it on after a few hours. I can get about 6-7 hours of wear out of these and I am so pleasantly surprised by them that I've been telling everyone I know who is into makeup that they NEED to try these!
