It's Time to Get Sentimental!

No comments :
Music is a big part of my life, so from time to time you'll notice that I'll write a music related post. I felt it was time to do another one because this past Friday I went to see one of my all time favorites, Good Charlotte. I've lost track of how many times I've seen them now ... I think this was the 12th? But my friend and I got VIP packages for it and we were freaking out.

I have met all the guys on different occasions, but to finally get to meet them all together was a little hard for me to wrap my head around, and I was freaking out for days before LOL.

I filmed the whole day with Ashley, and inserted some footage from the show:

Whether you like them or not, you've got to respect the fact that they have always, always been appreciative of their fans. I can't stand when a band or performer never bothers to thank the people that got them to where they are. I've never seen them NOT thank everyone or mention something heartfelt during a show. That's just one of the many reasons why I love them.

At one point during sound check, a guy told them that his mom had passed a few years ago and that her favorite song was Emotionless and asked if they could play it during the show. They said they hadn't played it live in years and would have to try and figure it out, but they ended up playing it. That really hit home with me and made me love them even more, the fact that they do things like that.

As part of the VIP package we got to take a photo with them, and got to hug all of them. I can't tell you how much that meant to me, or how happy I've been since then because of it. I've been listening to these guys since I was 15/16 and their music has been a huge, huge part of my life. I have so many friends because of this band - we've either bonded through their music, or met at shows. At one point I ran a fan site called Get Down With GC and met sooooo many people who I still keep in touch with through having that site! You go to their shows and see all the same people that you always see, it's like a big family and I love it.

I also have to throw in that they're absolutely incredible live! True story: I will stop listening to a band if I see them live and they suck. It's happened, and I won't mention who because a lot of people like the band and I'll probably get some hate comments if I do, but I've seen them twice and both times they were absolutely terrible live. LOL that is not the case with Good Charlotte - even when Joel's been sick at shows he can still sing his ass off.

I'll leave you guys with a few pictures from the night. They are supposed to do a full tour in the fall, so I am hoping they'll come on back so I can see them yet again!
