MAC Extra Dimension Skinfinish in Oh, Darling

No comments :
The elusive Oh, Darling is finally mine! I can say that this was hands down the hardest makeup item I've ever tried to get. It sold out on me on MAC's site before I could get it in my cart. Then I missed it at Nordstrom and Macy's. I finally ordered 2 from Bloomingdale's and they messed up my order. It seemed as though I was out of luck, but one of the awesome ladies on Specktra had an extra and I bought it off of her. And here we are. I wasn't going to review this because it's been sold out, but damn it, it took me a lot to finally get it so here we go!

The holiday packaging on MAC's stuff is always gorgeous, but I absolutely love the jewel tone metallics they went with this year. The extra dimension skinfinish happens to be in a blue metallic compact, which is so nice and fun.
Oh, Darling is a metallic champagne gold. This is VERY pigmented and VERY metallic. It reminds me a lot of Becca's Opal, and I am a little bummed that I'm so pale because it's a bit dark to use on its own as a highlighter on my skin tone. I have been making it work by using it lightly and mixing it with Anastasia's Starlight Illuminator.
On the left is a heavy swatch, and then it is blended out on the right. As you can see it's a wee bit too dark for me, but I am determined to make it work anyway!

I only have one other extra dimension skinfinish and I love that one as well, but the texture of this one is much smoother and more pigmented. I love everything about this and not just because it was so hard to get! I don't know why some things that get so much hype from MAC are always such limited stock, but they need to do something about it because it's a HUGE pain in the you-know-what!
