Jeffree Star Velour Lip Scrub in Strawberry Gum
Meg Blackett Saturday, December 05, 2015 Jeffree Star , lip scrub , makeup , review , skin care , swatch , swatches
I was so pleasantly surprised when my Jeffree Star lip scrub arrived - the thing is HUGE! Most lip scrubs are in tiny little jars, but this bad boy is a full 1oz. and packed to the top of the jar with product! At $12, you definitely get your money's worth size-wise.
The scent of this stuff, oh I was so happy that it is EXACTLY what I was imagining! I don't remember if it's Bubble Yum or Bubbleicious, but one of those brands used to have (or maybe still does, I haven't seen it in a long time!) a strawberry flavor and this is EXACTLY what it smells like! I used to chew that stuff all the time as a kid, and smelling this instantly brought me back.
Now this is a pretty messy scrub. It's chunky and wants to fall off your lips, so I usually use it over the sink. It's a drier texture, which kind of threw me off at first. I have a couple of other lip scrubs that have more of a sugar-inside-lip balm effect, and this one is just like rubbing straight up sugar on your lips. It does work decently well, but if you don't like the dry sugar scrub types, you might want to skip this.
So the scent, the size, the packaging is great, but the texture is something you'll either love or hate depending on what you're used to. I'm a big fan of the fact that this is about 3 times the size of other lip scrubs I own, so I will deal with the messiness of it!
