Play! by Sephora Monthly Subscription - Worth It?

No comments :
As soon as I heard that Sephora was going to have a monthly subscription box - that's only $10, by the way - I knew I had to sign up for it. This is the very first one, and I thought I would show you guys what's inside and tell you what I think!

First of all, the packaging is too cute. This box came inside a black and white striped box. I thought that was the box itself, but this cute little box with lipsticks all over the lid was what was inside! This will come in handy for some sort of makeup storage/organization, as I can put it into my Alex drawers and organize lipsticks or something. It's too cute to not repurpose!
Everything was packaged nicely inside. You get a booklet that tells you what everything in the box is, and the stuff is wrapped in tissue paper and sitting on a bed of crinkled up paper strips to ensure that nothing breaks.
First we have a Bumble & Bumble Hairdresser's Invisible Oil Heat/UV Protector Primer:
This has a cream consistency, but is a spray. It's infused with 6 natural oils to soften, detangle, and eliminate frizz while protecting from heat and UV damage. I have been straightening my hair now since it's gotten cooler where I live, and this stuff will come in handy! It has a great scent, and definitely helps kill frizz. I put it in my hair right after I towel dried it, and I really did notice that my hair was less frizzy and more soft after I styled it.

Next we have a sample of Elizabeth and James Nirvana White perfume:
I LOVE the Elizabeth and James scents. This one is very floral, and Nirvana Black is a musky vanilla scent. They're both awesome. I already have a deluxe sample of both scents because they were 100 point perks at Sephora, but it doesn't hurt to have another to throw in my purse, espceially when it's a scent I already know and love.

This is an Ole Henriksen Sheer Transformation Face Creme:
This is a lightweight moisturizer to help soften, brighten, and even skintone. It has a slight citrus scent, which I find most Ole Henriksen products that I've had samples of in the past do. I like this so far - it's not oily at all so it's great for oily skin types. It is super light and doesn't leave any residue feeling on your face, which is a major plus.
Next we have a Marc Jacobs mini Highliner in Blaquer:
This is a very dark, smooth, creamy liner.
I love that it's a twist-up and I love that it lasts on the waterline. I already have 2 of these minis, as they were also 100 point perks in the past. Again, not a big deal that I already have it because I know I like the product.

Then we have a 1oz tube of GlamGlow Supercleanse Daily Cleanser!
I was super excited about this because it is my favorite face cleanser EVER. It's a lot like the GlamGlow mask (the original one) but it's more gentle and it foams a bit, because it's a face wash instead of a mask. I love how clean it makes my skin feel and I would buy this over and over again. I do have the full size of this, but I will take more!

Last but not least we have a Sephora Rouge Infusion in Peony:
This is a liquid lip stain that is super pigmented, gives a ton of shine to your lips, and yes, it actually stains! I love this color - it's a rosy pink and right up my alley. It is lightweight and not sticky, and feels really good on the lips when you first put it on. I don't find it to be incredibly moisturizing, as it just dries down and doesn't feel like much on the lips, but it is a comfortable, pretty long wearing stain. It doesn't have much of a scent to it, but once it's on the lips it's kind of fruity, which is odd!

And there we have it, the first Play! box. I do think it's definitely worth $10 a month. That's not bad for 6 samples, all pretty good sizes. Now whether or not the months to come will be as good remains to be seen. For now, I am giving it a thumbs up. If you do shop a lot at Sephora, you may run into the issue I had where I already had some of the stuff from point perk rewards, et cetera, but if it's items that you already love, it's not really a big deal. I am excited to get next month's now!

As an added bonus, I filmed a video unboxing the box when I first got it!
