Kat Von D Studded Kiss Lipstick in Piaf
Meg Blackett Sunday, September 13, 2015 Kat Von D , KVD , lipstick , makeup , review , swatch , swatches
I'm always a little afraid to step outside of my lipstick comfort zone, but this color was too cool to pass on. It is Piaf, one of the new shades in Kat Von D's Studded Kiss lipstick line.
I reviewed Coven back when it came out, and wasn't loving how dry it was. This one is definitely better! I'm not sure if they have changed the formula on them or this shade in particular happens to be creamier, but I enjoy this one far more.
It is a deep brown with purple shimmer in it. Sounds weird just by the description, but look at how unique and pretty it is!
That's not to say it doesn't have ANY flaws. You definitely need a liner with this baby. It doesn't exactly bleed per se, but it's hard to get an even edge with this color unless you're using a liner with it.
These swatches were done with no liner underneath. I had to be super careful, and the edges are still a bit bumpy. Other than that, this is a color I definitely didn't think I would like on myself, but I dig it!
The wear time is also great. It's not a matte shade like most of her lipsticks, but it still goes for hours without needing to be touched up!! They will be releasing a limited edition holiday set on Tuesday of mini lipsticks (like every year) that comes with a full sized holiday shade (red with goldish shimmer I believe) in limited WHITE packaging! Will you be picking that set up? Because I know I will!
