Maybelline Color Blur Lip Pencil in I Like to Mauve It

No comments :
The new Maybelline Color Blur lipsticks intrigued me, because they are matte of course! Matte lip products seem to be all the rage lately and it's good to see so many drugstore brands coming out with them.
The color I picked up is called I Like to Mauve It, a mauvey pink shade. The packaging is a twist-up style, and on the opposite end there is a rubber smudger. This is pretty useless, if you ask me. Even if you did want to create a "blurred" effect on your lips, you could just as easily use your finger. I really don't see the point of the smudger, because I just use this like a normal lipstick anyway.
Instead of being a chubby pencil like so many we've seen in the past, this is a thinner version of that same idea. I like that, because it makes it easy to line your lips with it as well. Products like the Revlon Just Bitten lip stains and the Lacquer Balms are great but they're pretty wide to apply it cleanly to your lips without using a brush, especially once the tip starts getting dull.
The product itself glides on smooth and feels creamy and comfortable on the lips, which is surprising. They remind me a lot of the L'Oreal LeMatte lip crayons that I raved over a while back and they just recently made a comeback!
It has no scent to it, which will make a lot of people happy, and it is pretty transfer-proof considering it doesn't claim to be a smudge proof, long wear product. I am impressed with it! I like the color, it's a pretty subdued pink, not too bright but nice for when you don't want anything too crazy going on with your lips. I definitely recommend trying out at least one of these!
