NYX HD Blushes in Electro and Taupe

No comments :
NYX has some new blushes out called HD Blushes, and they aren't kidding when they say these babies are pigmented! I picked up a bright pink and a shade that I thought would be great for contouring, as it's a pretty spot-on dupe for the shade Sombre from the Kat Von D Shade + Light palette.

Electro is a matte hot pink. There's no other way to describe it!
It is VERY intense. You have to be careful with your brush with this one, because the tiniest bit too much will make you look like a clown.
As long as you apply it with a light hand, it can be really pretty. On the left here I swatched it with just one swipe of my finger, and then it is blended out on the right. Just a nice bright pink!

Taupe is definitely more of a contour shade for me. I picked this up because it is a spot on dupe for the lightest shade in the Kat Von D Shade + Light contour palette.
With this, it seems chalky when you swatch it with your finger. However, it blends out nicely so that isn't a problem in the long run. Here it is with and without flash:
I've found this to be the perfect contour shade for me. You naturally want your contour to have more of a gray tone to it, because you want it to look like a natural shadow, and shadows aren't bronzey or orangey! I think this will work for every fair skinned lady out there who can't seem to find a good contour shade! At $6, you really can't beat these!

The texture on both of these is smooth and as I said, they're super pigmented but blend out nicely. I love how you only need a tiny bit, because these are going to last a long time - you really get a lot of bang for your buck! They do fade slightly throughout the day, but nothing too crazy to where you can't see it anymore. A makeup setting spray always seems to help!

If you would like to see some live swatches, I talk about the blushes in this haul video!
