L'Oreal Colour Riche Colour Caresse Luminous Lip Color

Stumbled upon these new lipsticks from L'Oreal at Walgreens. I believe they are normally $9.99 but they were on sale. I thought I'd do a little review on them in case anyone is interested.

Back when the L'Oreal Balms came out, I bought 2 and ended up taking them back because I couldn't stand them. It wasn't so much that they had no pigmentation, I mean they were called BALMS to begin with, but more so the scent of them that bugged me. They had a perfume-y scent that I couldn't get past, and couldn't stand having them on my lips.

Even though these are called "lipsticks," they still very much remind me of the balms - they are SUPER moisturizing and feel amazing on your lips. But these are like "fixed" versions of everything I hated about the balms. Let me just get into it...

The packaging is a sleek gold mirrored container with a plastic band around it showing the color. Very drawn to picking up fingerprints, but other than that I really like it!


I picked up three colors - here they are first with flash and then without, in the tubes. From left to right it's:
Pink Plush - a light baby pink
Merino Mauve - a light mid-tone pink
and Pink Vinyl - a bright hot pink



The best way for me to describe these is as a sheer, balmy lipstick with a ton o shine. They have a slight fruity scent similar to L'Oreal lip products of the past (think Glam Shine lipgloss) which is really pleasant and one of my favorite lip product scents. Again, they are really moisturizing as far as lipsticks go and feel great on the lips. Staying power is iffy - a few hours at the most, but the darker pink shade tends to stay on longer (for me, anyway!) Here's a shot of them swatched on my hand in the same order:


As you can see, they are quite sheer but they had a ton of shades and I always tend to go for pinks so I'm sure some of the darker ones are more pigmented.
