Kat Von D Starry Eyes Palette

No comments :
I saw this palette a while back, before the holidays. As much as I wanted it, I knew that all the holiday aplettes go on sale after Christmas. So I was able to get it for around $26 instead of $49 - and the best part was I had Christmas gift cards so I was able to treat myself to it!

As usual, the palette is beautifully designed. The outside is metallic red with black artwork on it. It is much more sleek and compact than the past 2 KVD holiday palettes!

The palette comes with 3 eyeshadow trios (the line is going to have similar trios soon!) and two of the Everlasting Love Liquid Lipsticks.

As always, the shadows are gorgeous, highly pigmented, and blend amazingly. I am a huge fan of the KVD line but especially the eyeshadows! I have swatched them all with and without flash so you can see them well :) Each trio has a shimmer, matte, and glitter shade.

Felix is a neutral trio. It comes  with a champagne, matte chocolate brown, and deep glittery brown.

Lohner is a taupe/plum trio. It comes with a shimmery light taupe, a matte plum, and a deep glittery violet.

Helmut is a green trio. It comes with a shimmery light green, a matte forest green, and a deep glittery blackened green.

Finally, Requiem is a pink/purple trio. It comes with an amazing pink/lilac duo chrome type color that is very unique to anything else I have in my collection, a matte bright purple, and a metallic glittery deep purple.

As for the Everlasting Love Liquid Lipsticks (that's a mouthful!) this was my first time trying them. They are pretty awesome! They are definitely liquidy, there's no other way to describe them. But as soon as they dry, there is NO transfer! They last for hours on end and don't smudge off - which is always my biggest issue with lipsticks. While they can be a little bit drying, I will deal with it simply because they last so long! I only wish they had the strawberry scent of the old KVD Lightning lip glosses or something similar, as these have a rather perfume scent on the lips. But I am so impressed with these that I am definitely going to look into getting some other colors!

The colors that came with this set are Lolita, which is a deep nude and dries to a matte finish, and Adora, which is a gorgeous metallic red.

I wish I could have done this review sooner, as the palette doesn't seem to be available on the Sephora site anymore. But no worries - they sell the Everlasting Love Liquid Lipsticks separately, and the eyeshadow trios (though not in these same colors) will soon be available. You can request to be notified by email when they become available if you visit the page on the Sephora website!

Here is the video I filmed to go along with this post:
